Questions about the NJ Enhancing School Mental Health Services Project

NJ schools who are interested in receiving training and technical assistance will need to apply. Fifty schools will be selected for participation. Schools that successfully apply and are accepted into the project will be provided with technical assistance and training for the duration of the project.

Schools who successfully complete the application and who are accepted into the program will be asked to designate 1-2 School Mental Health (SMH) Leads responsible for attending all training events and leading the CSMH team at their school. Once identified, SMH Leads will be oriented and trained under the school mental health leadership academy umbrella.

The deadline for applications has now been extended to May 31, 2023 at 11:59pm. Please submit by this time.

All public schools (including charter schools) within the state of NJ who have completed the application request electronically are eligible to apply for the NJ Enhancing School Mental Health Services Project.

The NJ Enhancing School Mental Health Services Project is a collaborative effort between the New Jersey Department of Education and the Rutgers Center for Comprehensive School Mental Health (Rutgers-CCSMH) and is offered free of charge to all participating schools and/or school districts.

Technical assistance will be provided both in person and virtually throughout the length of the project.

50 New Jersey schools will be accepted to receive technical assistance.

Yes, the statewide trainings are open to all New Jersey educators on a first come first served basis. Most training courses have a 40-person maximum.

Unfortunately, CEUs will not be offered at this time. A certificate of attendance will be provided to all participants.

All training is free for New Jersey educators.
